Scantic River Brewery, LLC welcomes you!
Established in 2012, The Scantic River Brewery introduced the crowd pleasing Hampden Pale Ale. Shortly afterwards, we started introducing our Trail Ale series. Our Trail Ale series consists of IPA styles, along with Ales crafted with some of our favorite hop varieties. We are now serving our beers in restauraunts, bars, and 22 oz bottles in liquor stores. See the location tab for all the up to date locations where our beer is available.
The Scantic River Brewery of Hampden, Massachusetts has named its IPA series after the Minnechaug Mountain Land Trust hiking trails.
Minnechaug Mountain, located in Hampden, Massachusetts, is one of the finest hiking areas in and around the Pioneer Valley. The 908 foot mountain has three miles of marked trails, as well as a variety of unmarked trails. Some of these trails link up with trails going south into Connecticut and north with trails into Wilbraham. The Minnechaug Mountain Conservation area consists of 273 acres of protected land that was acquired through the efforts of the Minnechaug Mountain Land Trust and is open to the public for non-motorized recreation. This area is under the management of the Minnechaug Mountain Conservation Commission.
If you have not had the time to hike some of these trails, it should be a must. These are great trails right in your own backyard. The land trust web site gives more information on the trail system and has a detailed map and highlights of the trails.
The Algonquin Trail actually starts at the VFW, so after the hike you can stop into the VFW for a Scantic River beer, which is currently being served on tap daily.
